new feature: unclutter your task list
By katy
You are using TaskWriter for a while by now, and you feel that you have too many visible tasks….
“Activate / Deactivate” is for you !
Use the right “deactivate” button to temporary hide all tasks in a specific project. You can also see that like putting the project on hold. You can do the same for a list you are not using for a long time (but you don’t want to delete it yet), or for a context that does not work for you while you are on holiday.
“hide this task until 2 days before”
By katy
For tasks that goes into the calendar, you might not want to see them everyday in your task list. Instead, you might want to be hidden until 2 days before due date.
How to do that ?
1. set a due date
2. choose “hide until 2 days before”
The result ?
You won’t see this task until the 19th of December (2 days before its due date)
What if I want to see it before ?
You will notice the “2 tasks are hidden (show)” label in the “by due date” box. Just click on “show all” to see all your tasks and (maybe) edit them.
“I just realised I need a new project…

…while I was just adding a new task. So I have to click “Cancel”, add a new project, and then start again with my task from the very begining.
”
NO, NOT AT ALL
The above scenario is not a valid scenario for taskwriter. Instead, you just leave everything open in the “tasks” tab, go to the “define” tab, create the new project you need, and then go back to the “tasks” tab. All your data will still be there, except that your new project will also be available. It’s not usual for web apps, but it’s handy, isn’t it ?
To make it ever more simpler, we are going to add a new item in each combo, like “<add a project>”, “<add a list>” and “<add a context>”.
Thanks for the suggestion, Michael !
